Stories about the insidious error 53 did the rounds this week – if you get you iPhone repaired by a non-Apple repairer with non-Apple parts, your phone may be remotely disabled, permanently. Do we own the technology we buy or do we just rent them from the manufacturer? If a manufacturer can change how (or if) your device behaves, then you really don’t own it in any meaningful way.

You can’t make this stuff up – Dutch police are training eagles to destroy drones. What could possibly go wrong? And what do we send after the eagles once they go rogue? Eagle drones, maybe. I’m sure Michael Bay is already working on the script treatment.
